The UTN's "Los Reyunos" Regional Development Technology Center was inaugurated on October 24, 2004, as an initiative of the San Rafael Regional Faculty of the National Technological University. Its creation responded to the need to generate an academic and technical space focused on the study and promotion of local and regional development in Argentina.
From its inception, the Center was established with a national, local, and federal vision. National, because its field of analysis and contributions encompass the entire Argentine territory; local, due to its direct impact on the southern region of the province of Mendoza; and federal, by fostering the participation of professionals and topics from across the country, respecting the particularities of each territory.
Its primary goal is to establish itself as an academic leader in development-related issues, fostering collaboration between universities, the public sector, civil society, multilateral organizations, and the productive sectors. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the Center promotes studies, research, training programs, and outreach activities that foster a deeper understanding of regional realities and contribute to improving quality of life and strengthening civic engagement.
Located near the Los Reyunos Dam in the Department of San Rafael, the Center boasts over 1,000 m² of infrastructure dedicated to academic, research, and administrative activities. It also features facilities including 118-bed accommodation, a dining hall that doubles as a restaurant, and various common areas designed for the comfort and convenience of its visitors.
Within the framework of its academic and social objectives, the CTDR seeks to stimulate the execution of regional impact projects that integrate diverse knowledge and approaches, promoting collaborative work and sustainable development through education, applied research and knowledge transfer.
